Families trust me with their children and with personal information, and I take both responsibilities seriously. This page explains how I keep young people safe in coaching, and how I collect, use and protect your information.

How I keep young people safe.

Safeguarding has been at the heart of my work for more than 25 years in schools, including as a deputy headteacher. I hold Level 3 safeguarding training and a valid Good Conduct Certificate.

When I work with anyone under 18:

Coaching only begins with the agreement of a parent or guardian.
Parents always know when and where sessions take place, whether at home, in a public place, during an activity, or online.
What a young person shares in coaching is kept confidential, so they feel safe to talk openly. Parents receive regular updates on progress and goals, rather than the details of conversations.
The one exception to confidentiality is safety. If I am ever concerned that a young person, or someone else, is at risk of harm, I will share that concern with their parents and, where necessary, the appropriate authorities.
I'm a coach, not a therapist or medical professional. If I feel a young person would benefit from specialist support, I will tell their parents honestly and help them find it.

This website is run by Barry Chaters, trading as Elite Mindset Teacher, based in Dubai, UAE. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact me at bchaters@elitemindsetteacher.com.

I only collect information that you choose to share with me, such as:

your name, email address and phone number, when you contact me by email, WhatsApp or through this website
information about your child, such as their age, school year, subjects and what they'd like help with, when you enquire about coaching or SPARR
the Google account email address you'd like SPARR shared with, if you buy it or request the free taster
notes about coaching sessions, such as goals and progress, to support your child's coaching

How I use your information

I use it only to respond to your enquiries, provide coaching and SPARR, send you the products you've requested, and keep you updated on your child's progress. If you sign up for the free SPARR taster, I may also send occasional revision tips, and you can unsubscribe at any time. I will never sell your information.

Who I share it with

I only share information with services that help me run my business, such as Wix (which hosts this website), Ziina (which processes payments, so I never see your card details), Google (which hosts SPARR and my email) and WhatsApp (for messages you send me). I may also share information where the law requires it, or to keep someone safe, as explained in the safeguarding section above.

Information about children

I only collect the information about a child that I need to coach them or provide SPARR, and always with a parent or guardian's agreement. Coaching notes are kept private and secure.

How long I keep it

I keep coaching records for two years after coaching ends, and enquiries that don't lead to coaching for 12 months. After that, I delete them securely.

Keeping it secure

I store information securely using password-protected accounts and only access it when I need to.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to see the information I hold about you or your child, to correct it, or to delete it. Just email me at bchaters@elitemindsetteacher.com
